So Sue Me!
Looks like Apple and Cisco have decided to fight the iPhone trademark out in court. Apple, if you’d like to use our “iRate” instead, you’re welcome to it!! I am guessing Cisco is plenty irate about you using their trademark without an agreement…that’s probably why they fired up the lawyer-mobile and are after you! Hey, lawyerMobile, or lMobile wouldn’t be a bad phone name…or iMobile!?!
There’s a great article over at news.com about this, and the possible defenses that Apple can take on this mess, including the fact that there are other companies using the iPhone trademark and Cisco hasn’t sued them, and that Apple, correctly is the first to use the term iPhone to describe a cell phone.
We’d like to remind everyone that Apple has owned rights to use the term iPhone longer than Cisco, by the way…(Cisco has had it since 2000)…here’s an example after the jump… a simple whois on iphone.org indicates:

Interesting, no? Our analysis, in a nutshell, is that this is going to be a non-issue and iPhone will stay iPhone, and the two companies will end up settling. Once Apple starts handing it to Cisco in court, Cisco will be very interested in settling. No harm in rattling the saber a bit now, though!

Or maybe a new different kind of mac? A keyboard mac, a cylinder, a cube, a ball, I don’t know, all I’m saying is I think Steve Jobs is coming up with another kind of mac, it’s just his thing! What do you guys think? Is there any other kind somobody would like?

I highly suspect we’ll be hearing more about these non-announcements before the end of the month. 2007 is going to be a spectacular year for Apple. Woohoo!

We’d like to see a ball Mac, that’d be something else!! We wouldn’t put it past Ive and his crew to come out with something like that, either!! We’re predicting an announcement of the new Macs in February, after some of the iPhone and Apple TV hoopla dies down, along with a demonstration of iLife and iWork 2007 editions, and finally Leopard. New hardware available immediately, software available (Leopard, iLife, iWork) starting on March 24…
We’ll have a more detailed post up tonight, as soon as we get done watching all those juicy NFL playoffs!
